At the end of an eventful 2nd stage, Liane Lippert (Movistar) won the sprint in Mauriac on Monday. In the general classification, Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx) remains in yellow in this Tour de France Women 2023.
In great shape at the start of the Tour de France Women 2023, Lotte Kopecky this time came across a little stronger. Indeed, in the sprint, the Belgian was dominated by nothing by Liane Lippert (Movistar) this Monday in Mauriac, during the 2nd stage. However, the yellow jersey takes the opportunity to consolidate its first place in the general classification. Because, if the runner from the SD Worx team performed a nice solo number on Sunday in Clermont-Ferrand, the person concerned was more discreet this time around. In a peloton which knew how to control the advance of the various breakaways of the day, Kopecky then tried his luck at the end of the stage but had to bow during this arrival in the sprint. “Only” second at the finish, the Belgian now has a 49-second lead over her first pursuer Lippert.
