When the Tour de France peloton arrived on the Champs-Elysées, the boss of Groupama-FDJ, Marc Madiot, put a layer on the Jumbo-Visma.
Marc Madiot clearly didn’t like it… Last week, the boss of the Jumbo-Visma, Richard Plugge, split an attack against the Groupama-FDJ team, which he accused of drinking beers during the rest day.
“We were with a French team at our hotel during the rest day (Monday). We saw runners drinking large beers. We, nobody drank alcohol, because it breaks you, and even those who are not runners should not drink it”was worth thus declared the boss of the Dutch team to The team.
“A little beer for the Jumbo”
A statement that did not fail to react Marc Madiot. After having provided a scathing response by the media, the general manager of Groupama-FDJ appeared on Sunday, at the arrival of the 21st and last stage of the Tour 2023 with a sign on which one could read: “A little beer for the Jumbo”. All in front of a Batavian team vehicle.

“It’s okay, stop! On every rest day, we have a moment of conviviality between my riders and the management, had retorted the leader Marc Madiot a few days ago. The management drinks a beer, not necessarily the runners and even if they had drunk one, it wouldn’t have been fifty centilitres. It’s shabby, small and shabby. It’s a shame. (…) Let him shut his mouth! I don’t intend to meet him, I don’t give a fuck about his face. I’m not going to lower myself to go see him. I’m angry, it’s pathetic. »
