According to information from the American specialized press, Nick Nurse should become the new coach of the Philadelphia 76ers franchise.
The Philadelphia 76ers are holding their new coach. This Monday, ESPN quotes anonymous sources collected within the franchise based in the State of Pennsylvania and affirms that the next coach of this NBA team will be Nick Nurse. The latter is the one who had taken the Toronto Raptors to the championship title. It was at the end of the 2018-2019 season of the prestigious Basketball League. Designated coach of the year in 2020, Nurse was then thanked by his Canadian franchise in Toronto, last April, after a total of five years on the Raptors bench. In Philadelphia, Nurse will succeed a certain Doc Rivers. This season, the Sixers were taken out in the semi-finals of those play-offs currently still in progress.
Philadelphia’s last title was in 1983
In its series, against the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia however led 3-2, before therefore definitively surrendering, on the occasion of the seventh and last game scheduled in this famous series. To then see Boston slip away in the Eastern Conference finals. This poor performance therefore then led to the dismissal of the coach in place, namely Doc Rivers, after this third elimination in a row at this same stage of the competition. The 76ers have not won the NBA title since 1983. Within this franchise is the MVP of the season, namely Cameroonian Joel Embiid. As for the back James Harden, he could well return to the side of Houston.
