Always spectacular, the 500 Miles of Indianapolis disputed on Sunday gave birth to an accident which could have turned into a tragedy.
Felix Rosenqvist made a mistake and spun 16 laps from goal, Kyle Kirkwood was unable to avoid his McLaren, thus thrown against the safety barriers – single-seater upside down – while one of its wheels, torn off in the shock, flew towards the stands.

Miraculously, no spectator was touched, the famous wheel having ended its race in the parking lot. An impact appearing on one of the parked cars showing that the worst has been avoided.
