José Mourinho’s future is no longer at AS Roma. According to the Mirror, the Portuguese coach has decided to leave the Louve this summer. To fly to PSG?
This will undoubtedly be one of the main summer projects for PSG. Christophe Galtier may well believe that he “deserves to stay” an additional season at Paris Saint-Germain, his future on the bench of the Rouge et Bleu is far from sealed. José Mourinho, Luis Enrique, Thiago Motta, Marcelo Gallardo or even Abel Ferreira: in recent weeks, several names have come out in the press to replace him, some tracks seeming more realistic than others. Starting with the one leading to the “Special One” (60 years).
Since Saturday and the defeat conceded by AS Roma on the lawn of Fiorentina (2-1), the Portuguese coach knows that he will not be able to sit on one of the four qualifying seats for the Champions League in Serie A, the Louve being now out of the race. If they want to return to the C1 in 2023-2024, the Giallorossi have no other choice but to win the Europa League final against Sevilla FC on Wednesday evening in Budapest. But even such a scenario cannot retain the “Mouth” in the Italian capital.
Mourinho at PSG?
According to Mirror, José Mourinho should actually leave Roma in the offseason, although he is under contract until 2024, and has even already informed his leaders of his intentions. It is therefore at the Stadio Olimpico, Sunday evening against La Spezia, that he would have planned to say goodbye to the transalpine formation. If even a sixth personal continental trophy and a ticket to the Champions League doesn’t convince him to stay a third year in the Eternal City, then no doubt he has a better plan in mind.
A plan likely to guarantee him, one can suppose, better results than with his current club on the biggest European stage. At PSG? The connection is tempting, especially since a coach of his profile, a man with a fist, who has won everywhere he has gone except at Tottenham, could very well be suitable for managing the Parisian locker room, reputed to be explosive. There is no doubt in any case that his situation will be scrutinized carefully in the coming days by Luis Campos and the staff of the reigning double French champions.
