Cristiano Ronaldo’s dream of winning the Saudi Arabian league this season with Al-Nassr came to an end on Saturday night.
As the great competitor that he is, Cristiano Ronaldo hoped to make an impression by not waiting more than six months to lift the Saudi Arabian champion trophy with his new club Al-Nassr. The mission of the fivefold Ballon d’Or finally failed on Saturday evening, the fault of a crippling draw for his team on the lawn of Al-Ettifaq (1-1). It is therefore over the hopes of a national title this season for CR7 who, in addition to that, is out on injury.
Because at the same time, the leader and rival of Al-Ittihad did not tremble and won largely on the ground of Al-Feiha (0-3). Now five units ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and his family, Al-Ittihad can no longer be joined and will win the ninth Saudi Pro League title in its history, as much as its rival Al-Nassr.
Premature departure?
As for Cristiano Ronaldo, his premature exit in the 84th minute of the match would have to do with a problem with the adductors. The Portuguese’s participation in Al-Nassr’s last match of the season is currently uncertain. It remains to be seen whether the former Manchester United played his last meeting on Saturday evening in the colors of the club he joined last January.
The last days, rumors of the desire for (premature) departure from the Portuguese have flourished in the press, some media indicating that Ronaldo had commissioned his entourage to pass on the information, that he would not be against a quick return to Europe to find the top level. Engaged until June 2025 with his current club, will he leave suddenly this summer? It’s still too early to tell, but a twist cannot be ruled out.
