Unhappy last Friday in the final of the 13th stage of the Giro, the cruel scenario of the 18th stage this Thursday suggests that the French climber will not win on Italian roads this year. Neck and neck with his breakaway friend, Filippo Zana (Team Jayco-AlUla), at Zoldo Alto, the Franc-Comtois was beaten in the sprint. The 24-year-old Italian champion wins the cup in front of an audience committed to his cause.
