Author of a huge comeback in recent weeks in the Premier League, Liverpool took only one point against Aston Villa (1-1), Saturday at Anfield, and lost ground in the race for the top 4 behind Newcastle and Manchester United.
The penultimate Premier League weekend hurts a lot Liverpool. After 7 wins in a row, the Reds found Anfield one last time this season for a clash against Aston Villa. Jürgen Klopp’s men only took one point (1-1) and lost big in the race for the top 4.
The Reds, who equalized too late against the Villans (by Roberto Firmino in the 91st minute, responding to Jacob Ramsey’s opener in the 27th minute), are 5th with 3 points behind Newcastle (3rd) and Manchester United (4th). It would take a small miracle to see Liverpool snatch their ticket to the Champions League.
WHO ELSE WHO HIM?! 🤩

Casemiro wears Man United
Man United did not shake on the road to Bournemouth, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Casemiro at the start of the match (from a return, 9th). Erik ten Hag’s men, 4th with a small goal difference, have two matches next week to take a point and secure the top 4, against Chelsea on Thursday and Fulham on Sunday.
Liverpool, for its part, will play its last match at Southampton, and is also guaranteed at least to play in the Europa League. Aston Villa misses the boat a bit by remaining 7th, behind Brighton (which has 2 matches less), but just ahead of Tottenham. The 7th of PL will play the 3rd qualifying round of the Conference League.
