A few months after his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, Mauricio Pochettino will sit on a somewhat special bench. The opportunity for him to lead some football stars.
Mauricio Pochettino has been out of coaching for eleven months. Thanked by Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, the Argentinian took the time to recharge his batteries before going back to looking for a bench. If the hypothesis of finding him in charge of Chelsea next season is regularly put forward, he has in the meantime chosen to offer himself a short, rather special freelance. During the football tournament Soccer Aid which will take place next June 11 at Old Trafford, Pochettino will be the coach of the World XI team.
An announcement he made official on Friday. As part of this operation intended to raise funds for UNICEF, the former professional footballer will therefore have the honor of coaching some football legends. According to RMC, some like the Brazilian Roberto Carlos, the Argentinians Gabriel Batistuta and Hernan Crespo, or the Italian Francesco Totti, have already responded. Beautiful people to which should join Usain Bolt or the champion of UFC, Leon Edwards.
Relaxation before the London construction site?
Mauricio Pochettino’s team will face a selection of English players, including Gary Neville, Jack Wilshere and Jermain Defoe, with a few stars from other disciplines as well. The show should logically be there. Good humor too. A last moment of relaxation perhaps for Pochettino before heading to Chelsea with a hell of a challenge to take up.
