The Eolo-Kometa team has announced the death of its rider Arturo Grávalos, suffering from a brain tumour.
Spanish cycling is in mourning. Arturo Grávalos, a 25-year-old professional runner, passed away this week following a serious illness.
“The sad news that we would never have wanted to give. Arturo, you left us, you are gone forever, you crossed our lives like a shooting star, but your luminosity will always live in our hearts. Your values and teachings live in us and make you immortal. Loving you was easy, but forgetting you will be impossible.” says the Spanish cycling federation in a press release.

Vice-champion of Spain hopes in 2019, Grávalos turned professional the following season with Eolo-Kometa, the team led by Alberto Contador. “Grávalos underwent surgery in November 2021 for a brain tumor that had been diagnosed a few weeks earlier, after several days with strange sensations during training, explain Aeolus-Comet.
