Wind of madness on the Giro

Tuesday (10th stage) experienced some sensations including an unusual fall.

The Giro d’Italia 2023 continues to suffer some serious shocks. Less than 48 hours later l’abandon du favori Remco Evenepoel due to covid, another contender for the podium was forced to throw in the towel.

Aleksandr Vlasov got off his bike on Tuesday shortly after the 70th kilometer of the race. Sick, the Russian leader of the Bora-Hansgrohe team occupied sixth place overall, one minute and three seconds behind Briton Geraint Thomas (Ineos-Grenadiers), new pink jersey since the withdrawal of Evenepoel.

A 10th stage also marked by serious falls. 53km from the finish judged in Viareggio, Michel Ries (Arkéa-Samsic) and Lukas Pöstlberger (Jayco AlUla) landed on the road before Alberto Bettiol was hit by an official a few seconds later.
