While he was manager of Molde, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had offered a certain Erling Haaland to Manchester United, for a price that will leave the Red Devils with regret.
With the current prices, and the delirious statistics of the Norwegian striker since the start of the season, we can estimate that Manchester City made a good deal by recruiting Erling Haaland for 60 million euros last summer. But a rival Skyblues club could have recruited the “cyborg” for a much lower sum a few years ago.
It was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who made this revelation in the columns of the Sun. While he was manager of Molde (2015-2018), and therefore before he took the reins of Manchester United, the former Red Devils striker had slipped the name of Haaland to the Mancunian leaders. In vain.
“I contacted Manchester United because we had this talented striker they should have taken, raconte Solskjaer. But they didn’t listen, unfortunately. Four million euros, I asked. But they never signed it. Four millions! »

For four million euros, Man Utd could have afforded this promising striker. In January 2019, Haaland left Molde to join RB Salzburg, before heading to Borussia Dortmund a year later. Now he is making the heyday of the neighbor and rival of the Red Devils, while Erik ten Hag must choose between Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial for the position of center forward.
