Despite a double from Raheem Sterling, Chelsea were held in check by Nottingham Forest (2-2) this Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea is already falling back into its ways. A week after a victory at Bournemouth (1-3), their first success since March 11, Frank Lampard’s men failed to follow up this Saturday against a poorly ranked Nottingham Forest (2-2).
Without N’Golo Kanté, injured and probably out until the end of the season, and with the return of Edouard Mendy in goal, the Blues were surprised at the start of the game with the goal of Taiwo Awoniyi (13th). With his double, Raheem Sterling allowed Chelsea to turn things around (51st, 58th), but Awoniyi quickly answered him (62nd).
Chelsea thus remain 11th, but the Blues could still drop in the standings given the schedule that awaits them, with meetings against Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle to end the season.
