The reception of the Magic allowed the Grizzlies to chain a seventh victory in a row. Driven by Stephen Curry, the Warriors came back from afar to win against the Pelicans. The Celtics, after three consecutive successes, fell on the floor of the Wizards.
The hottest team in the NBA at the moment is Memphis. On their floor, the Grizzlies took advantage of the reception of the Magic to sign a seventh success in a row. If the Floridians, led by the duo composed of Franz Wagner (25 points) and Paulo Banchero (24 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) gave the change during the first minutes of the meeting, a missed end of the first quarter set the tone for the rest of the match. In effect, the Grizzlies took the controls to count up to 23 points at the start of the second quarter and then in the middle of the third. Desmond Bane (31 points, 5 assists), Xavier Tillman (20 points, 9 rebounds) and Jaren Jackson Jr (16 points, 10 rebounds) were no strangers to the excellent performance of the Tennessee franchise, which had to cope with the absence of Ja Morant. Late in the game saw the Magic push to come back and close to just three points in the final 30 seconds. In the free throw game, the Grizzlies kept their hand to win with a five-point lead (113-108) and consolidate their second place in the West. The Magic, after three consecutive victories, falls back into its ways.
Curry carries the Warriors
The defeat against the Timberwolves will remain a bad memory for the Warriors… who however believed they had to concede when receiving the Pelicans a second loss of rang. Indeed, after the first nine minutes which saw the two teams neutralize each other, Brandon Ingram’s teammates (26 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists) geared up to conclude the first quarter with a 16-2. An eleven-point mattress on which the New Orleans franchise capitalized before widening the gap a little more as halftime approached. After scoring the last three-point shot of the second quarter, Stephen Curry (39 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists) sounded the charge on the return to the Chase Center floor. Gradually, the Warriors closed the gap to regain control on the scoreboard just over nine minutes from the buzzer thanks to Jordan Poole (21 points, 5 rebounds). The Bay Area franchise then became irresistible to seek victory in front of their home crowd (120-109) and retain sixth place in the West. After five wins in a row, the Pelicans fall into line.
Showered Celtics
For the Celtics, second in the Eastern Conference, a three-game winning streak came to an end against the Wizards. A meeting for which the suspense will have held until halfway through the second quarter. Indeed, if the New England franchise got off to a good start, the teammates of a voluntary Jayson Tatum (28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) quickly fell into line. It must be said that, on the side of DC, Kristaps Porzingis was intractable (32 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists). The gap began to swell in the minutes leading up to halftime. On recovery, the public at the Capital One Arena could see their formation fly away on the scoreboard, counting up to 23 lengths ahead at the very end of the third quarter but also at the start of the fourth. The Celtics tried to stop the forward march of the Washington players, returning to twelve points with just under seven minutes to play. However, the Wizards gave absolutely nothing to win with a 19-point lead (130-111), their second success in three games., and return to two victories for the Bulls, the current last qualified for the play-in in the East. The Celtics, already assured of playing the play-offs, lost some ground on the Bucks.
