Antoine Dupont may be considered by some to be the Kylian Mbappé of rugby, the tricolor scrum half does not spawn in the same waters as the PSG star in terms of his salary.
At 26, Antoine Dupont is the big star of French rugby and has been considered for two years as the best player in the world. The tricolor n°9 could even enter a new dimension in the event of the coronation of the XV of France during the World Cup organized next fall in France. What to make for sure the equal of Kylian Mbappé.
However, there is one area in which the Toulouse player will not be able to compete with his Parisian alter ego. The salaries of the two men are unrelated. Under contract with Stade Toulousain until 2027, Antoine Dupont receives some 600,000 euros gross annually. Or more or less what Kylian Mbappé earns in three days. Since his extension with PSG, the tricolor world champion has indeed earned 50 million euros net per year.
Despite his status, Antoine Dupont is not even the highest paid player in the Top 14. A privilege that goes to Handré Pollar, who receives 1.2 million euros per year, Finn Russell and Cheslin Kolbe following with a salary of 1 million euros, respectively to Racing and Toulon. He is also not the highest paid French player since Virimi Vakatawa’s salary would be 962,000 euros at Racing.
Antoine Dupont can nevertheless count on some sponsorship contracts to increase his emoluments. In addition to his equipment manufacturer (Adidas), which would pay him 40,000 euros per year, the native of Lannemezan has signed several sponsorship contracts, in particular with Tissot, Serge Blanco or Puressentiel.
