The last French representative in the European Cup, OGC Nice is reconnecting with its past.
Nice did not shake. A week after winning on the lawn of Sheriff Tiraspol (0-1) in the first leg, the Riviera club validated its qualification for the quarter-finals of the Europa League Conference by winning 3-1 at Allianz Riviera. A historic performance for the Aiglons.
OGC Nice had not been to the quarter-finals of a European Cup for 63 years. We must indeed go back to the 1959-60 season to find the Nice club in such a good position. The Aiglons had then climbed to the quarter-finals of the Champions Club Cup, the ancestor of the Champions League, where they had been taken out by Real Madrid.
