A race that returned in 2014
Via this same press release formalizing this famous news, Stefano Domenicali, who is none other than the President and CEO of Formula 1, was necessarily delighted with this extension: “The Austrian Grand Prix brings together the perfect mix of a challenging track, high-speed racing and a beautiful venue for our fans, so I am delighted that we will be returning to the Red Bull Ring until 2027 at less, under this new agreement. As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of our return to Spielberg, I want to thank everyone involved in this renewal, especially the promoter and Red Bull, and I want to pay tribute to Dietrich Mateschitz for the love, passion and the vision he brought to Formula 1 which ensured the continued success of the event and the enormous enthusiasm for our sport in Austria and around the world. »
This race returned to the calendar for the 2014 season. Consequently, this extension will make it possible to celebrate, next year, the tenth anniversary of this great return of the Red Bull Ring (Spielberg). The old contract stipulated that the final race on this same circuit was scheduled for Sunday July 2nd.
