The UCI has visibly sanctioned Kristen Faulkner, who wore a blood glucose sensor during the Strade Bianche.
Looks like the penalty has fallen for Kristen Faulkner. On the UCI website, the American no longer appears in third position of the Strade Bianche classification, a place recovered by the Danish Cecilie Ludwig (FDJ-Suez). Obviously, the rider of the Jayco-AlUla team was disqualified from the Italian event.

For a week, Kristen Faulkner has been talking about her for wearing a blood glucose sensor on the white paths of Tuscany. This device is very often used by cyclists in training, but it is prohibited in races. It measures the level of glucose in the blood, and collects other physiological data, which allows runners to have information on their level of fatigue, to better manage their diet and avoid cravings.
According to Cyclingnews, Kristen Faulkner had pleaded her good faith. The American had installed this blood glucose sensor on her left arm before knowing that she was called up at the last minute for these Strade Bianche. As her device was not connected to her smartphone during the race, she thought she was within the rules. Obviously, her defense was not enough to avoid disqualification, but now it remains to be seen if she will be suspended.

For the moment, neither the UCI, nor Kristen Faulkner, nor the Jayco-AlUla team have reacted to this sanction.
