Ten games were on the night’s program in the NBA, and notably saw Golden State offer a great victory over Milwaukee after overtime, and Sacramento going to win at Phoenix in an important game for the Western podium.
As soon as they play at home, it goes much better for the Warriors! After three straight away defeats, the Californians returned to their Chase Center for a clash between the last two champions, against Milwaukee. And they won 125-116 after extra time! While they seemed to have the game in hand, with a thirteen-point lead in the third quarter, the Warriors saw the Bucks come back in the last quarter, and lead 100-108 with 2’05 remaining. But Stephen Curry came out of his box to register three three-point baskets and a lay-up, block a shot from Jrue Holiday three seconds from the buzzer, and thus snatch the extension (111-111).
An extension where the former MVP has again done wonders, scoring nine points out of the fourteen of his team. He finished with 36 points on the clock (13/27 on shots including 6/15 at 3pts), including 22 in the last quarter and during overtime. In the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (wrist), Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton scored 19 points apiece for the Bucks.
Sacramento and Memphis tied
Also in the West, Sacramento and Memphis are tied for second place behind Denver, after their respective wins in Phoenix and Dallas. The Kings struck a blow in Arizona by winning 119-128. Even if Kevin Durant was absent, the Suns remain a very big team, but Sacramento finished strong going 13-4 in the final 3’39. Harrison Barnes (19pts), De’Aaron Fox (18pts) and Malik Monk (18pts) shone, and the Kings bench finished with 65 points.
Opposite, Devin Booker’s 28 points, Chris Paul’s 16 assists and Deandre Ayton’s 12 rebounds were not enough. Meanwhile, Memphis edged Dallas 112-108 in a game that was without superstars Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic and Ja Morant. The Texans of Tim Hardaway Jr (23pts) however led by eleven points at the start of the last quarter, before collapsing, the fault in particular of the rookie of the Grizzlies David Roddy, author of his career record, with 24 points, including 17 in the last quarter.
Good operation for Boston, Hayes loses but shows
In the East, Boston returns to a game and a half of the leader Milwaukee, thanks to its beautiful victory 125-1345 in Atlanta, in a match where the Celtics took control at the quarter of an hour of play and did not let them go. . The duo Jayson Tatum (34pts, 15rbds, 6pds) – Jaylen Brown (24pts, 7pds) has done wonders again. Trae Young’s 35 points and 13 assists weren’t enough for the Hawks, who are eighth. Sixth, New York conceded a third defeat in a row, on the floor of the Clippers (106-95), after a match where the Californians made the difference in the last quarter (30-21).
Kawhi Leonard scored 38 points and Immanuel Quickley 26.
