Win, the terrible claque

Opposed to legend Jon Jones at UFC 285, Frenchman Ciryl Gane lost in the first round in a highly publicized fight, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, in Las Vegas.

A slap in mondovision. This is what Ciryl Gane received, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, during UFC 285. The French faced the American Jon Jones, legend of MMA (Mixes Martial Arts, mixed martial arts), on the Las Vegas ring. The fight, extremely awaited, will have lasted only two minutes, hardly more.

Quickly taken to the ground by the American, Gane was seized by his opponent’s speed and technique. Caught at the level of the neck, the one who is nicknamed “Good Kid” very quickly typed to stop a fight which had barely started. Gane was the victim of a movement called “Guillotinne”, cruel fate for the one who is the French king of MMA, with the Franco-Cameroonian Francis Ngannou.

It’s terrible for Gane, who dreamed of buying the UFC heavyweight champion belt, left free by Ngannou, in conflict with the organization. This is the second defeat for the French, after his loss on points against Ngannou, precisely, in January 2022, in Anaheim (California). His victory in Paris at Tai Tuvasia, last September, had allowed him to bounce back, but it is only a distant memory.

Gane fell from a great height, but he had against him the one who reinforced his status as an MMA legend, the one who is nicknamed the “GOAT”, the Greatest of All Time, the greatest of all time. We must remember two things for Jon Jones: that it was the first time he had entered the ring in three years, and that it was his very first fight in the heavyweight category. Its success is brilliant.
