The CIES Football Observatory takes stock this Wednesday of the clubs that have garnered the most during the transfer window of the last five years. But also on those who have lost the most…
In the game of major beneficiaries, two elite clubs are in the European Top 10: Losc and OL. If Benfica, which has just reaped a nice jackpot with the transfer of Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea, prances at the top of the hierarchy of the clubs which in the last five years have made the most money on the transfer market – with an asset of 370 million euros – Lille invites itself to second place in this ranking.

The northern balance is in fact in surplus by 308 million euros; therefore heavier than that of Ajax (292 M€), Salzburg (287 M€) and Sporting (268 M€). Lyon also appears in a flattering sixth place, with a positive balance of 229 million euros. What to make envious on the side of Marseille and Paris, in particular.

The two flagship clubs of the French championship for their part are largely in deficit. PSG up to 202 million euros; OM, not far away, up to 192 million. The palm of the losses in this area obviously goes to the Premier League, with no less than nine representatives in the Top 10. Only Juve appearing in ninth place, with their liabilities of 337 million euros. Chelsea have no equal at the top of this ranking of clubs in the red, leading with a negative balance of 749 million euros.
