A few hours after the video published by RC Lens to denounce certain arbitration decisions taken during their draw in Brest (1-1), Arnaud Pouille, its general manager, drove the point home, considering that it was “the match where we were the most badly refereed of the decade”.
RC Lens is in the news the day after its draw conceded on the lawn of Stade Brestois (1-1). And not only because of this poor performance which is worth to the Sang et Or to let go of the ballast at the top of the classification.
The artesian club has indeed posted a video of almost a minute ironically compiling certain arbitration decisions of Mr. Bastien. A montage, “the forgotten VAR compilation” according to RC Lens, which provoked strong reactions and about which Arnaud Pouille, the general manager of RCL, spoke at the microphone of L’Equipe du soir.
“You have to give the context of the publication of this video. There are often emotional positions taken at the end of each match. We wanted there to be a debate – there is – but also by repositioning the images, because it’s too easy to make a scene when people don’t have the images. Now we’re neither a whiny club nor freaking out. But, we consider that it is perhaps the match where we have been the most badly refereed in the decade”, he lamented.
