Missed transfer to Bordeaux due to passport theft!

While the Girondins hoped to complete the arrival of an offensive reinforcement, its sports director, Admar Lopes, had his papers stolen, preventing him from taking the plane…

Bordeaux supporters had a difficult evening on Tuesday. Firstly because of the defeat conceded against the Le Havre leader at home. Four days after a convincing victory in Dijon (0-3), the Girondins bit the dust at the Matmut Arena (1-2) and are now in third place in the standings, outstripped on goal difference by Sochaux and rejected at ten points from Le Havre.

But the evening was even more complicated behind the scenes. As the winter transfer window closed its doors, Bordeaux was indeed planning to complete the transfer of a rookie in attack to compensate for the departure of Honduran striker Alberth Elis, on loan to Brest. The Girondins had reached an agreement with a foreign club about a young player – whose name did not filter – but the operation was to be finalized visually in the evening.

It was nevertheless without counting on the misadventure which occurred at the airport to Admar Lopes, the sports director of the Bordeaux club. The Girondin leader had his bag containing his papers and his computer stolen. Without papers, the Portuguese could not board the plane and Bordeaux saw the hoped-for transfer fly away. the scapular club will therefore have to settle for the arrival of Alexi Pitu, a promising Romanian U20 international.
