Led from start to finish by Roanne, Boulogne-Levallois fell on their floor at the start of the 19th day of Betclic Elite (84-102). A setback that could do business for Monaco and Cholet over the weekend.
Boulogne-Levallois has fallen back into his ways. On the occasion of the opening match of the 19th day of Betclic Elite, the players of Vincent Collet conceded on their floor a surprise defeat against Roanne. Both attacks were on fire from the first moments of the encounter with both teams going blow for blow. However, taking advantage of a more messy end to the first quarter from the Metropolitans, the Chorale was able to escape the scoreboard.
It is with eight points in advance that the teammates of Ronald March (23 points) were able to approach the second quarter. Led by ten lengths at the start of the ten minutes leading to the break, Bandja Sy (15 points, 6 rebounds) and the Mets signed a 9-0 to return to contact with the Roannais. However, more was needed to overthrow this first half of the match. The gap fluctuated between four and nine lengths to settle at this maximum when returning to the locker room. Back on the floor of the Palais des Sports Marcel-Cerdan, the supporters of Boulogne-Levallois could hope for a reaction of pride from their proteges.

Roanne did more than hold on
But Vincent Collet’s players again had their heads underwater. A 13-3 in just under three minutes allowed the Chorale to flirt with a 20-point lead. But, after having made the round back, the Ile-de-France residents have gradually reduced the gap thanks to the inevitable Victor Wembanyama (31 points, 14 rebounds), present on the rebound but also at long distance. Conceding only five points at the end of the third quarter, the Mets had reason to believe in a comeback, being only led by eight units with ten minutes left to play.
A last quarter which essentially saw the Roanne players take off to make the end of the game easy. An 11-0 lead by Silvio de Sousa (16 points, 6 rebounds) allowed the Chorale to nip in the bud any idea of rebellion on the Ile-de-France side. After 40 minutes, Roanne wins by 18 lengths (84-102) and signs a third success in a row in Betclic Elite. An equivalent series ends for Boulogne-Levallois, who finds himself under threat from Cholet, who goes to Nancy this Saturday. Monaco, ASVEL’s opponent this Sunday, could also take the opportunity to soar in the championship standings.
