In the turmoil after what looked like a foot call to PSG, Youssouf Fofana gave an update at a press conference.
Guest of the program Quelle Epoque, on France 2, a little over a month after the World Cup final, Youssouf Fofana sparked a controversy last Saturday. Asked about PSG, the tricolor midfielder expressed his wish to evolve, in the long term, with the Red and Blue. “I come from here, so it would be normal to return home”he launched, assuring that it was not a question of a foot call.
His words nonetheless caused a stir and the Monegasque midfielder got off with presenting himself at a press conference to clarify his thoughts. “It’s a moment of the show that was retained. It has been a little decontextualized. I was asked a question in a humorous tone. I tried to answer it. I think it was not well received, he confided. I said it was a dream, I never said it was a goal. I never said that I necessarily wanted to go there. Since I have been in Monaco, I have never displayed my ambitions so greatly. I’m not going to start on this show. »
