Gareth Bale is about to play a prestigious golf tournament. Jon Rahm, world number 3 in this sport, judged the level of the former Tottenham player.
Last Tuesday, Gareth Bale announced his participation in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am PGA Golf Tournament in California, which will take place from February 30 to 5. During this competition, the now ex-footballer will compete with 155 other amateurs. Several professional golfers will take part in the competition, such as Matt Fitzpatrick, the last winner of the US Open, Jordan Spieth, three-time Major winner, and Patrick Cantlay. But what is the real level of the Welshman in this sport?

According to golfer Jon Rahm, his level would be more than correct. “I said to Gareth: you can’t be so good at football and golf at the same time, that’s not fair. It’s not fair to me. You can’t do one thing and have that much talent for golf. It’s not fair at all. Bale didn’t ask me anything, and he shouldn’t either, he’s good enough already. Like I said, being a professional footballer has nothing to do with being this good, he’s already good enough”judged the world number 3 in remarks reported by Brand.

Gareth Bale has never hidden his passion for golf. This has also earned him some criticism during his career as a footballer, some observers and/or supporters reproaching him for favoring the greens over his obligations as a very high-level athlete.
