Chelsea has been on a buying spree since the start of the winter transfer window. The London club has thus further strengthened its central defense by recruiting Benoit Badiashile after attracting Wesley Fofana last summer. The two Frenchmen embody the future, but for now the Blues can still count on the indestructible Thiago Silva.
At 38, the Brazilian is also one of the rare satisfactions of the first half of the season. The leaders of the club are well aware of this and would have in mind to extend the former Parisian, at the end of the contract next June.
According to the Daily Mail, the Blues should quickly open discussions with the clan of the native of Rio de Janeiro, who however did not completely rule out the idea of returning to Brazil.
