Bourg-en-Bresse lost their place as leader of group A of the Eurocup, after their 92-88 defeat at the Lithuanians of Lietkabelis.
Bourg-en-Bresse is no longer the leader of its Eurocup group! The Burgiens were doubled by Prometey, following their 92-88 defeat on the floor of the Lithuanians of Lietkabelis. The JL, which remained on two victories, was the favorite against this team which had lost its last four meetings, but they lost after a match with twists and turns. Bourg led this match for the first eleven minutes, before conceding an 11-0 which allowed Lietkabelis to take a good lead (33-22) and lead 40-31 at half-time. And the recovery was fatal to the Burgians, who suffered the Lithuanian wave, with a terrible 13-0, allowing the locals to lead 55-33. The gap even climbed to +27 at the end of the quarter, and the mass seemed then to be over. But Bourg managed a magnificent comeback at the start of the last quarter, with an improbable 19-0 (75-69)! The JL even returned to -3 (88-85) sixteen seconds from the end, but Lietkabelis again widened a small gap thanks to free throws. Despite the 31 points from James Palmer Jr, it is therefore a defeat for Bourg, who still has four victories ahead of the first non-qualifier with six days remaining. Next match: against Brescia next week.
Burgian markers: Massenat (10), Floyd (5), Palmer Jr (31), Pelos (9), Chassang (2), Mike (10), Kokila (3), Brimah (4), Julien (14)
