The pre-match FA Cup poster between Wolverhampton and Liverpool was marred by the playing of pornographic sounds as Gary Lineker spoke.
Liverpool provided the bare minimum on Tuesday against Wolverhampton. Forced to go through a “replay” after a draw on their lawn (2-2), the Reds finally validated their ticket for the round of 32 by winning 1-0 at Molineux Stadium. Hardly exciting, the meeting was nevertheless marked by two memorable incidents.
A power failure disrupted the very beginning of the meeting, the lighting going out as Adama Traoré escaped on his right side. Even more comical, sounds of sexual intercourse were heard before the match on the BBC while Gary Lineker provided the presentation of the meeting. What create some discomfort on the set.
For a sabotage, that was pretty fun
“I don’t know who makes that noise”, was surprised the former striker, having a hard time keeping his seriousness. And while he asked his consultant Danny Murphy to“stop making those noises”, Alan Shearer, present at the Molineux Stadium, was just as amused by the situation. And the incident was repeated a few minutes later, shortly before the top scorer of the 1986 World Cup left the commentators to work.
Gary Lineker and his teams took advantage of the meeting to conduct the investigation. And their investigations have borne fruit, as evidenced by the tweet published by Gary Lineker in the evening. “We found it taped to the back of the board. For a sabotage, it was quite fun”he wrote in the caption of a photo of an old telephone hung on adhesive tape.
It remains to know the author of the little joke. In a series of tweets, former defender Micah Richards, a consultant for the channel, shared messages accusing him of being the culprit.
