Hit in the knee and forfeited for the World Cup, Christopher Nkunku is not about to play again with RB Leipzig.
Hit in the knee during training at Clairefontaine, Christopher Nkunku had to withdraw from the World Cup on the eve of the departure for Qatar, which had benefited Randal Kolo Muani. The RB Leipzig striker is still far from seeing the end of the tunnel, since his return to competition is not expected for several weeks.
RBL manager Max Eberl has given an update on the state of health of the former Parisian, who chose not to have surgery to try to return to the field more quickly. « I am in close contact with him and his agencies. The conservative treatment method worked. We will monitor his development over the weeks when he returns to Leipzig.”the German leader told Bild.

While the German championship will resume on January 20, with a clash between Leipzig and Bayern Munich, Christopher Nkunku will have to wait. “The plan is for him to come back at the end of February”, added Max Eberl. In the best-case scenario, the French international could be back for the Champions League round of 16 first leg against Manchester City (February 22).
