Images of Dana White slapping his wife in public on New Year’s Eve continue to stir. Dustin Poirier denounced this gesture.
More than a week after the fact, the storm is still brewing above Dana White. On December 31, while celebrating New Year’s Eve with his wife, the president of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) was caught by the patrol when he slapped the latter violently, responding to an initial slap from his half. If he has since apologized, the leaders remain in the eye of the storm. While many voices were raised calling for his immediate resignation, one of the UFC’s star fighters of recent years gave his uncompromising opinion on the episode.

Well known to lovers of the discipline, Dustin Poirier gave an interview to Bloody Elbow during which he did not escape a question relating to the gesture of the big boss of the UFC. Not being a man to slip away, “The Diamond” replied clearly: ” You should never put your hand on a woman. As for the possible career consequences of Dana White’s position, the former interim lightweight winner was more cautious. ” I’ve no idea. “A terrible situation”
As a reminder, Dana White apologized on the microphone of TMZ after the affair began, stating that he had ” no apologies“, adding: ” My wife and I were out Saturday night for New Years. And unfortunately what happened happened. I’m one of those guys who says there’s no excuse for a man to lay hands on a woman. And here I am talking about it on TMZ. It’s an awful situation. I am ashamed. […] People will make up their minds and they will be right, especially in my case. You don’t hit a woman. Never.«
