At 23, Romane Dicko became world judo champion for the first time in her career by beating Brazilian Souza in the final.

As she has just celebrated her 23rd candle, Romane Dicko already has an impressive track record in world judo. 3 European champion titles, 2 Olympic medals (team gold, individual bronze). And for her first World Championships, the judoka from Paris Saint-Germain did not have feelings.

After eliminating his compatriot Julia Tolofua in the semi-finals, the native of Clamart only needed a little more than a minute to get rid of the Brazilian Beatriz Souza (24 years old) thanks to excellent work on the ground, before bursting into tears by achieving the feat she had just achieved. In 2024 in Paris, she will aim for her first individual Olympic gold medal, for which she seems more favorite than ever.
