In two rounds and just over an hour, world number 1 Iga Swiatek qualified without the slightest difficulty for the third round of Roland-Garros at the expense of Alison Riske.
Iga Swiatek has reached the 30 mark! Undefeated since February, the world number 1 did not tremble for a second in her duel against Alison Riske to sign a 30th consecutive victory and become the fourth player to achieve such a performance since the beginning of the 21st century. A meeting which at first seemed like a long calm river for the one who won the last five tournaments in which she participated (Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart and Rome). Facing an American unable to win more than one point on her service games, Iga Swiatek unfolded. Converting the three break points she was able to get, the Pole left nothing to Alison Riske, who conceded the first set in just 20 minutes.

Swiatek to his hand from start to finish
A streak of back-to-back games that the French Open’s No. 1 seed pushed to nine. Indeed, always imperturbable in the service, Iga Swiatek also broke the 43rd player in the world to quickly lead three games to nothing, probably too fast for the American. The latter then showed character and dismissed three double break points before winning her very first game in this meeting. From there, Iga Swiatek took his troubles patiently but did not resist when it was necessary to conclude the match on his opponent’s service. On the second occasion, the world number 1 put an end to the debates, the outcome of which quickly left no doubt (6-0, 6-2 in 1h02′) and continued her show of strength at Porte d’Auteuil. Danka Kovinic, who beat Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-3, 7-5 in 1h49′) will be on her way in the third round.
