Seeded n°5 in Belgrade, Cristian Garin was eliminated from the start by the young Dane Holger Rune.
Already a top seed eliminated at the Belgrade tournament! Cristian Garin, fifth best player present in the Serbian table and 31st player in the world, fell from the start against Holger Rune, 72nd. As he turns 19 next week, the Dane, who beat Aslan Karatsev last week in Monte-Carlo, won 6-3, 6-1 in 1h24. Yet broken from the start of the match, Rune reacted quite impressively, winning five games in a row, then the set. In the second, he had no difficulty either, with three breaks and a victory on his fourth match point. Next opponent: Dusan Lajovic or Taro Daniel.
Perfect start in Belgrade for @holgerrune2003! ?
