Montpellier and Nantes both clinched their third victory of the season this Saturday in Liqui Moly Starligue, winning against Dunkirk and Toulouse respectively.
Identical start to the season for Montpellier and Nantes. The two rivals of PSG in recent years have a record of three wins, one draw and two losses after six days of Liqui Moly Starligue, following their victory on Saturday. At home, the MHB (7th) disposed of Dunkirk (15th) on the score of 31-26 (15-11, mt) in a well controlled match. If the Northerners held for the first ten minutes (6-5), they saw the Héraultais take off thanks to a 5-0 (9-5, 14th) and keep this lead until the break.
Returning from the locker room, the USDK managed to come back to -3, but never less. Montpellier has indeed kept between three and five goals in advance until the end, with even a peak at +7 in the money-time. Hugo Descat, author of 9 goals, greatly contributed to this success in Hérault, as did Kévin Bonnefoi, author of 9 saves (6 goals for Théo Avelange Demouge and 10 saves for Valentin Kieffer on the Dunkirk side).
Nantes sinks Toulouse
Nantes (5th), for its part, won 33-29 in Toulouse, red lantern, making the difference at the end. The Fenix indeed led during the first quarter of an hour (8-7, 14th), then the two teams remained shoulder to shoulder for ten minutes (13-13, 24th). But it was from that moment that the H decided to step on the accelerator, to lead 20-15 to 30th.
Thanks to a 3-0, Toulouse managed to come back to -1 -21-22, 38th), but Nantes regained its distance at the end of the match, going from +2 to +5 in six minutes, before winning . The H will be able to say thank you to Aymeric Minne, author of 7 goals, but also to Mickaël Robin, who stopped 14 shots. Opposite, Jef Lettens has long delayed the deadline, with his 17 saves, but Toulouse (despite Matthieu Marmier’s 7 goals) remains very last in the standings.
