Before returning to PSG, his training club, Angevin Souleyman Doumbia looks back on his difficult period in Italy.

Spent 7 years at the academy of Paris Saint Germain, Souleyman Doumbia will meet up with his training club this Friday at the Parc des Princes (8:45 p.m.). Before this meeting, the defender of Angers notably returned to his visit to Italy. He had joined the club of Bari from PSG in 2016.

” I did not expect this. I came from Paris, I did not know racism, except on television. I felt it in the supporters, but also in life. I remember, in Vicenza, I was at a restaurant with a friend and I was taken for someone who came to eat without paying. I had to justify myself by saying that I was a football player and that I could pay for my meal. In the long run, it was boring ”, he said in an interview with Le Parisien.

The Ivorian defender will therefore leave Italy to join Grasshopper Zurich in Switzerland, first on loan and definitively in July 2018. Doumbia will sign his return to France in January 2019 with the signing of a 3-year contract at the Rennais Stadium, where it will ultimately be loaned to Angers the year after. He is now engaged with the SCO until 2023.
