Pogacar is aiming for a huge double

We know more about Tadej Pogacar’s next goals. The two-time winner of the Tour de France, who has not raced since the road race at the Olympic Games on July 24, where he won a bronze medal, will participate in the European Championships in September.

Pogacar, who will line up in the road race as well as the time trial, will be one of the big favorites for the title. At the Trento circuit in Italy, the punchers should have the advantage, which would tend to suit the Slovenian. If the field is still far from being known, we know that Pogacar will notably face the Belgian Remco Evenepoel, two riders who are fighting for the nickname of “new Cannibal”.

Pogacar will therefore focus on one-day races, where it can also be formidable, as it has shown this year by winning Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Its resumption is planned on the Bretagne Classic (August 29), then after the “Europe” there will probably be the world championships, in Flanders, and finally the Tour of Lombardy. The Slovenian will necessarily be an actor in these races, since he never travels to make up the figures. His worst result of the year, in 10 events: a 7th place.
