The women’s omnium got off to a spectacular start with two falls in the last laps of the scratch race. More than ten runners fell on the floor of the Izu Velodrome! And among them we count the French Clara Copponi as well as the title holder, the Briton Laura Kenny. It is well known that the misfortune of some makes the happiness of others. Victorious of the event, the American Jennifer Valente scored 40 points before the second event which will be the tempo race.
