The gold came later in the day, with first the third Olympic coronation of handball tricolor, in a remake of the unfortunate final of Rio against Denmark (25-23). Then a formidable response came from volleyball, this time with a historic triumph for France, at the end of a bitter fight with Russia (3-2: 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, 21- 25, 15-12).
