While Christopher Six signed the best French performance in the dressage event counting for the eventing, the French team is in ninth place in the team classification.

Olympic champion in Rio, the French eventing team will have to tighten the game if it wants to believe in a new Olympic medal. Contested over two days, the dressage event saw the trio made up of Christopher Six with Totem de Brecey, Karim Laghouag with Triton Fontaine and Nicolas Touzaint with Absolut Gold being left behind before the cross and show jumping. With a total of 95.10 points, the Habs are only in ninth position and see Great Britain (78.30 points) take the lead at the end of this first test ahead of Germany (80.40 points) while New Zealand completes the Top 3 (86.40 points).

Six best placed in individual

In parallel with this team event, the individual eventing sees the Blues also being in difficulty. Five years after the silver medal won by Astier Nicolas, Christopher Six and Totem du Brecey are those who appear best at the end of the dressage. With a total of 29.60 points, the Habs are in 13th position, just over eight points behind the German Michael Jung, with Chipmunk FRH, which occupies the first place. Karim Laghouag and Triton Fontaine, who replace Thomas Carlile and Birmane for these Olympic Games, are 26th in the general classification (32.40 points) while Nicolas Touzaint and Absolut Gold are 32nd (33.10 points). A complete competition which will continue this Sunday with the cross before the conclusion this Monday during the show jumping event.
