The French women’s rugby sevens team won its third group match against Canada (31-0) and therefore finished at the top of its group. Now it’s time for the quarter-finals!
Three out of three for the French rugby sevens team! Les Bleues won their third group match, this Friday against Canada, and therefore secured the first place in group B. After beating Fiji 12-5 and Brazil 40-5, the French were only ‘A mouthful of the Canadians, and won 31-0. They won the first half 19-0 thanks to tries from Séraphine Okemba (1st), Anne-Cécile Ciofani (5th) and Jade Ulutule (7th + 1), and the second on the score of 12-0 thanks to essays by Carla Neisen (12th) and Chloé Jacquet (15th). They will therefore play in the quarter-finals a little later in the day, and given the level displayed during these first three group matches, a medal is clearly possible!
