Clarisse Agbegnenou is determined not to waste time on the tatami mats at Nippon Budokan. Five-time world champion in the under 63kg category, the Rennaise was quick on the occasion of her entry into contention at the stage of the round of 16. Opposed to the Cape Verdean Sandrine Billet, “Gnougnou” spent only 20 seconds on the tatami. On one of her first attacks, the top favorite in the category placed a tani-otoshi which immediately sent her opponent to the back. A high-speed ippon that opens wide the doors of the quarter-finals, with the Dutch Juul Franssen as the next opponent.
