Charlotte Bonnet, Cyrielle Duhamel and Léon Marchand qualified for the semi-finals of their respective series. On the other hand, it’s over for Fantine Lesaffre in the 200m medley.

It goes for Charlotte Bonnet! Engaged in the 200m freestyle heats, the 26-year-old from Nice will play well in the semi-finals, after having achieved the tenth time. Bonnet, who is competing in his third Olympic Games and won the bronze medal in London in 2012 with the 4x200m relay, finished fourth in his series, in 1’56 ″ 88, quite far from the winner and author of the best time of these series, the American Katie Ledecki (1’55 ″ 28) reigning Olympic champion. But the sixteen best times being admitted in the semi-finals, Bonnet will be well at the start on Tuesday.

Charlotte Bonnet is content with 4th place in her 200m freestyle series (1’56 “88) won by American star Kathleen Ledecky (1’55” 28). Enough to join the half #Tokyo2020 #Olympic Games

Qualification also for Léon Marchand on the 200m butterfly! The day after his sixth place in the 400m medley, the great hope of French swimming qualified in extremis for the semi-finals. Only fifth in his series in 1’55 ″ 85 (eight tenths behind Swiss winner Noé Ponti), the 19-year-old Toulousain finished fifteenth in total and therefore qualified, with 19 hundredths ahead of the first non-qualifier. The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday, with the Hungarian Kristof Milak, best time of the series in 1’53 ″ 58, as the favorite.

Duhamel also passes, not Lesaffre

? Cyrielle Duhamel qualifies for the semi-finals of the 200m medley with the 12th time in the heats (2’11’11). Fantine Lesaffre is for its part eliminated (2’14 ”20) #Tokyo2020 #Olympic Games

One in two for the Bleues in the 200m medley heats. Cyrielle Duhamel qualified by finishing third in her heat, in 2’11 ″ 11, 1 ″ 41 behind the “iron lady” Katincka Hosszu, and eleventh time overall, 1 ″ 95 behind the one who achieved the best time, the American Kate Douglass. On the other hand, it’s over for Fantine Lesaffre, only seventh in her series in 2’14 ″ 20 and 21st in total.
