Big disappointment on the other hand for Mathieu Van der Poel, victim of a fall in cross country.
BMX world champion in 2015, Niek Kimmann got off to a bad start in his Olympic adventure in Tokyo.
In training on Monday, the Dutchman hit head-on an official who was trying to cross the track. A mishap echoed in the Batavian delegation to Mathieu Van der Poel’s big crash in cross country – not to mention the false joy of Annemiek Van Vleuten who the day before believed to win the race online due to lack of communication with the Oranje team.
« Hope the official is doing well. My knee is sore, but I’ll do my best to be ready Thursday », Says Kimmann on social networks. The interested party is expected in the BMX series in three days.
