The Belgian Deceuninck-Quick Step team announced on Monday that it will change its name in 2022 to become the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team.
The Belgian Quick-Step team will have an eighth different name for its twentieth year of existence in the professional peloton. The training directed by Patrick Lefevere is used to changing its name regularly (Quick-Step-Davitamon which became Quick-Step-Innergetic in 2005 then Quick-Step in 2008 then Omega Pharma – Quick-Step in 2012 then Etixx-Quick-Step in 2015 then Quick-Step Floors in 2017 and therefore Deceuninck-Quick-Step since 2019) will become Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team next year.
Quick-Step, which is a brand of laminate and parquet floors, has extended its cycling adventure until 2027, and its co-partner for 2022 will therefore be Alpha Vinyl, which is one of the brand’s products. (“high performance rigid floors”, to be precise), which Quick-Step wishes to highlight by giving it the name of its cycling team.

Still heavy in 2022

The boss of the training will be able to count, in 2022, on riders like Julian Alaphilippe, Remco Evenepoel, Kasper Asgreen, Yves Lampaert or Fabio Jakobsen to shine the colors of the Belgian team. Deceuninck has already won 37 victories in 2021, including five in the Tour de France thanks to Julian Alaphilippe and Mark Cavendish.
