Parma: Gauff wins his second tournament, at 17

At 17, American Coco Gauff won the second title of her career on the WTA circuit, winning the final in Parma to the detriment of Qiang Wang.

Coco Gauff has made a success of her Italian fortnight! Semi-finalist in Rome and beaten by future winner Iga Swiatek, the American player won in the (less tough) tournament in Parma, where she was the No. 3 seed. The 17-year-old thus wins the second tournament of her career, after Linz in 2019, the first on clay, and promises to be a great outsider for the next Roland-Garros. In the final, Gauff defeated No.6 seed Qiang Wang, whom she faced for the first time. The 30th world won 6-1, 6-3 against the 48th, in just 1h15. The young American was impressive (despite her 6 double faults), saving the four break points that the Chinese obtained (including three when she was used to win the first set at 5-1). She held her serve perfectly and broke 1-0 and 4-1 in the first set, then saved a 3-1 ball in the second, before breaking at 2-2 and 5-3 to win. . Thanks to her second victory in two finals, Coco Gauff will be 25th in the world next Monday, the best ranking of her young career, and will undoubtedly be one of the players to avoid in the draw for Roland-Garros next Thursday!

ALL EYES ON ✨COCO✨
