Beaten at home by Nantes before the international break, PSG won 41-28 in Limoges and regained six points ahead of Montpellier six days from the end.
Before going to challenge Kiel, defending champion, on Wednesday in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League, PSG handled current affairs in Lidl Starligue, going to win 41-28 at Limoges, which signs a seventh game without victory. The Parisians, beaten by Nantes two weeks ago before the international break, recovered well by going to win in Haute-Vienne after a well-controlled match. If the Limougeauds held the Parisians in check during the first six minutes (5-5), the PSG then quietly took off, to lead 19-13 to the 23rd. But Limoges woke up and inflicted a 4-0 to the defending French champion, so that the score was “only” 19-22 at halftime.
Very efficient bets on shots
Limoges still held on for the first seven minutes of the second period (22-25), before gradually seeing the Parisians move away from the scoreboard, 3-0 or 4-0. PSG scored up to fourteen goals (26-40) with five minutes to go, and the match finally ended with a +13 advantage. Paris was almost irresistible in front of goal, with 85% success on shots, against only 64% for Limoges. Nedim Remili finished top scorer for PSG, with 7 goals, while Vincent Gérard made 7 saves. On the Limoges side, Dragan Gajic scored 7 goals and Denis Serdarevic only managed 4 saves. Thanks to this 23rd victory in 24 matches, the Parisians are getting a little closer to a new title of champion of France. They are six points ahead of Montpellier (who played one game less) six days from the end, before receiving the red lantern Tremblay next week. But in the meantime, head for Kiel!
