As in the first leg, the Manchester City left-handed dribbler scored against PSG.
Riyad Mahrez is decidedly remarkably regular. After finishing his first two seasons in the jersey of Manchester City with 12 then 13 goals in all competitions, the star captain of the Algerian selection scored his 13th goal of the current year, Tuesday evening, against the PSG.
The left-handed dribbler gave the victory to the Cityzens in the first leg, in the semi-finals of the Champions League, last week, with a free kick that pierced the Parisian wall. On the return, he opened the scoring with a cross shot that escaped Prsenel Kimpembe and Keylor Navas (10th).
During his 5 starts since the start of the final phase, the native of Sarcelles was decisive in each match, with an assist against Gladbach and another against Borussia Dortmund. He then scored against the same German formation and therefore during the two meetings against the Parisians.
Mahrez becomes only the 2nd player in history to score in the two UCL semi-final matches for an English club, the first being one of his contenders for the African Ballon d’Or, Sadio Mané, who had scored in the first leg as well as in the return against Roma in 2018.
Riyad Mahrez has started five KO games in the Champions League this season:
